Summer is getting closer everyday!

We have only 5 days of school left! I can't wait for summer and actually be able to sleep in all the time everyday. I passed all my OGTs so high school is pretty much downhill from here it seems. I hate that the last two days of school we have finals. Everyone does bad on them because they are to excited to get out of school. Its really hard to do the last exam on the last day in the 8th period. I have German then so I'm sure it's going to be very hard. Luckily I'll have soccer during the summer to keep me in shape. I am ready for a really big summer thunderstorm though! Those are the best. They are really great when your half asleep with the windows open listening to the rain! I'm hoping my next two years of high school fly by! I'm ready to graduate and get out of Coshocton. There is nothing to do anymore. Everything is getting boring. Our vacation this year is a cruise to Mexico, Jamaica, and a nothing island but I don't remember which one. I'm excited but then again scared cause we are going to be on a huge boat in the middle of the sea! I'm sure everything will be fine though. I hope everyone summer goes well!

Man with knife attacks kindergarten in China

A man with a knife cam and stabbed 28 children in a kindergarten in east China this morning. Most of the victims were 4 year olds and three of the children are in critical condition. Police say they have a 47-year old suspect. The incident happened in Taixing city in Jiangsu province. A month ago a man came and and stabbed eight children to death and wounded five others. He was executed Wednesday. Authorities said he carried out the attack because he was frustrated at "failures in his romantic life." I think that is horrible. Why would a guy go into a school and stab 28 children who are four. And to take out his failure at a love life on children makes it even worse. I would hope they would make sure the guy is executed as well. It's sick for someone to even kill little kids because of their life. Go get help or something.

Massive quake hits China

A 7.1 earthquake hit China at about 7:49 a.m. in Qinghai Province. The quake killed at least 400 people and injuring 10,000 people, and many are still missing. Of the missing is 20 school students and 50 office workers. The officials are working on rescuing the school students. Where the quake hit many of the houses are of poor condition, being mad of mud, wood and brick. An official said that at least 32 people of been rescued from the debris. China National Radio, citing an official with the local Red Cross Society of China, said that 70 percent of the school buildings had collapsed in the Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, an area the size of South Korea that has a population of 350,000. A teacher said that 5 or the 1,000 students have died. At least 18 aftershocks measuring more than 6.0 followed the quake throughout the day.
To me, there seems to be a lot of earthquakes happening. It's kinda scary.

School is coming to an end.

Last week the freshmen took the practice OGTs, while the sophomores took the real deal. I'm so glad they are over with! I thought they were a little difficult. So hopefully I passed all of them. I'll be glad to sleep in next year when the freshmen have to take them next year. The third nine weeks ends this week. Which mean 9 week tests and soon it will the fourth nine weeks! I don't see a point in the 9 week tests we have. We already have to suffer semester exams on the very last day of school. This weekend we had some very nice weather, which makes school more of a drag! Luckily spring break is really soon! I can't wait to be able to sleep in for a while. Then after spring break summer vacation is soon too! So overall the school year is starting to wrap up slowly! I remember when I was excited to start school. but after awhile you get annoyed with people and just wanna get away for a while!

Warm Weather

Spring is just around the corner! I can't wait to be able to wear shorts and flip flops again! I'll be glad when the sun is out and its about 65 degree. Not too hot or too cold. Before we know it, it will be our last day of school! I cant wait to be able to sleep in everyday and do nothing again. But soccer will start too and I'll be busy with that. If we get a coach. So far we don't. Track conditioning was Monday-Thursday this week. I'm excited to start track to give me something to do for a while. I'm already really tired and sore from condition so hopefully by our first meet I'll be ready. I think our first meet is March 30th. So it's not to far away. Hopefully all the snow is melted away and it warms up because running in the cold isn't too fun. Summer just doesn't seem like it can come any faster. I remember when I was excited to start school again. Now I'm counting down the days till the last day!

New treatment to prevent cancer.

Glioblastoma is one of the most deadly human brain cancers. Radiation can temporarily shrink the tumor but they nearly always recur within weeks or months and a few patients survive longer than two years after diagnosis. Now scientists at the Standford University School of Medicine found a way to stop the cancer cells from growing back. They studied the tumor using mice. This discovery happened when the researchers realized that irradiated tumors turn to a little known pathway to generate blood vessels necessary for regrowth. Martin Brown discovered that the radiation meant to kill the cancer cells also destroys the existing blood vessels that nourish the tumor. As the result of that, it had to rely on a backup blood delivery pathway. Brown and his colleagues used a small molecule called AMD3100 to block this secondary tumor-growth process in the mice. It is possible that the researchers may be able to move relatively quickly into human trials. Still, the researches caution the whole process.

More Snow..?

Again, this week we only had two days. I like only having two days a week. It felt nice to get out of the house for once and actually have something to do. I got bored being snowed in all the time. And we are getting an even bigger storm! I heard it's supposed to be a blizzard? I'm getting kinda tired of all this snow. These back to back snow storms are crazy! I think this is the most snow we have had in a while. I like winter sometimes cause of the snow days, but I am ready to start wearing shorts and flip flops. Track starts pretty soon. I hope its not as cold as it has been this past week. I hope once it turns March all the snow will go away. I'll be glad when it's the end of May. So far we only have to make up one day. I hope to keep it that way. I don't like making up a bunch of days. And i definitely don't want to go far into our summer vacation.

Snow days!

Today is the first full day of school since we had a delay on Monday. I was glad we had 3 days off. I was surprised that we had Thursday off since we barely cancel. Now we only have one snow day left. Ridgewood and Riverview hasn't even gone to school this week. But they will have alot of days to make up. I did completely nothing in the past 3 days. I slept and ate. I did go out and play in the snow, but only for like 15 minutes. It was too cold. I am somewhat glad to come back. Gives me something to do besides fighting with my brother and eating too much. If we have another snow storm I hope its not to bad since we only have one day left. So far we will have our full spring break! I'm ready for warmer weather now. We had our good fix of winter weather this year. It's time to end.

Snow,Snow, Go Away!

Today we are supposedly going to get about 6-8 inches of snow with some wind, making the temperature even colder! The snow just melted from our last snow fall we got, and what happens we get double the snow.I hate snow. It's too cold and ruins my plans I have for the weekend. I should probably plan to move somewhere done south to like Florida or the Carolinas. That way I won't have to worry about snow and below freezing weather. I'm am ready for spring and for track to start up though. Just so I can stop laying around and watching T.V all day. I'm the type that can sit around all day, sleep and eat. But I am also ready for summer so I can sleep in everyday and do completely nothing all day. That's basically how I live my life. Nothing wrong with sleeping and eating all day!

2010 Grammy's

I didn't get to watch the Grammy awards, because I forgot it was on. But I saw a lot of news about it on the Internet. Lady Gaga has quite a style. She wore a silver skyscraper dress that blew everyone away. You know its Lady Gaga if she is wear skyscrapers as an outfit. She has a great voice, and all her music is my favorite. Even though she is somewhat weird, its OK. People say Pink had the best performance of the night. With Tik Tok the best song to Ke$ha's name, her Grammy style disappointed her fans that night. I think people should lay of on the celebrities style. It's their style and they want to wear it. Beyonce took home six Grammy awards, Breaking a record for the most awards for a female! I hope next year I will remember the Grammy's are on and watch it!

Scheduling for the 2010-2011 School Year

Yesterday the junior, sophomore, and freshmen classes were called down to discuss scheduling. Its hard to believe I'll be a junior. I'm pretty sure on the classes I want to take, but I'm not completely sure on the foreign language. I'm in my 2nd year of German and I don't know any of it. I don't know whether to take a 3rd year of German to get my 3 years of a foreign language, or take 2 years of Spanish and have 2 years of German and 2 years of Spanish. I am thinking about taking Journalism as my art. I would take an actual art class, but i have no creativity at all. All I know is I am ready to graduate and move out of Coshocton.
